01/04/2019: Community Banking Relationship Manager Recognized for Serving on the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville Board

Community Banking Relationship Manager Jackie Hughes was recognized recently for serving for five years on the board of the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville. Between 2013 to 2018, Jackie served on the community investment committee and volunteered with Dollars & Sense, a  financial literacy fair for high school juniors and seniors.

Through these efforts, Jackie vetted grant proposals for United Way to consider awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars from the community to help our most vulnerable populations in Martinsville, Henry County and Patrick County. This is a strenuous process that helps to ensure proper stewardship of United Way campaign donations and true impact in the community.

When asked why she chose to serve on this board, Jackie stated, “I am really proud to have served on the board of the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville. This organization provides funds that are greatly needed to agencies in our community so that they can provide vital services to the members of our community.  I truly love this organization.”
